For my BFA thesis I wrote and illustrated a children's book entitled Chiaroscuro. It uses Chiaroscuro as a visual metaphor to help explain the positive and negative experiences that make up our lives. In the same way that light and shadow create a visual interpretation of the world around us, our experiences, good and bad, define our lives and bring forth understanding. The goal is to teach children that good can be wrought out of any situation depending on how you choose to see it in hindsight. It explores a wide range of themes such as: Fear, Discernment, and the value of our experiences.
